Hebrews 12:2 (NRSV)

looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.

Value 2: Let go of those things that keep you from Shalom

Somethings we let go of ARE NOT BAD THINGS! This is a hard thing to learn, but if we are going allow God to order our lives we must make room to be used. You only have so much time, energy, and money in this life. When you choose to use it in one place it means that you can not use it somewhere else. I know this sounds like a simple concept, but it’s the hardest to understand. If you choose to spend time with your spouse or your kids, you have to let go of something else (more work, personal time, hobby, etc…) If you are going to take time for rest, you have to give up time and energy from somewhere else. If you are going to tithe, you have to make room in the budget.

  • What good things in your life do you need to give up, to make room for things that are more important to being Shalom?
